Helping you and your dog enjoy life, not just survive it
I absolutely love watching people grow in confidence with their dogs, when those lightbulb moments happen, tails wag harder, and everything just clicks.
My job is to help you and your dog understand each other better, so life together becomes less “What now?!” and more “We’ve got this!”
Whether you’re tackling behavioural blips or starting out with a brand new pup, I’ll guide you with patience, practical support and absolutely zero judgement. It’s all about kind, consistent training.
We'll develop a dog training plan that is tailored to your dog's needs.
We believe that positive reinforcement training is the most effective way to train your dog. By rewarding good behaviour, we help your dog learn faster and build a positive association with training. We use science-based training methods to teach your dog obedience, manners and good behaviour. We offer a range of training, from puppy training to obedience, so your dog can learn and grow with us.
We don't just train dogs - we train you to train your dog explaining the why behind the how every step of the way.

Our Puppy Classes are the perfect place to start. We focus on building strong foundations, good habits and confident puppies, while helping owners understand how to train effectively from day one.
You’ll work on:
We also spend time on owner education, covering things like rewards, consistency at home, managing distractions and avoiding common problem behaviours before they start.

Beginner classes are ideal for puppies moving up from puppy class or for older dogs who are new to training. The focus is on clear communication, consistency and building a great working partnership between you and your dog.
You’ll cover:
These classes help handlers improve timing and handling skills, while giving dogs the structure they need to succeed in everyday life.

Improvers classes are where things really start to come together. Skills become more reliable, exercises are gently made more challenging and dogs learn to work with greater confidence and independence.
Training includes:
This level bridges the gap between basic pet training and more advanced work, while staying practical and relevant for everyday dogs.

Available to handlers and their dogs that have completed the Improvers course or already hold Gold award from BIPDT or KC.

I’ll teach you how to teach your dog—and keep it fun
Training should feel like a team effort, not a battle of wills. I’ll help you learn the ropes so you feel confident in your skills and proud of your progress (and your dog will feel pretty proud too).
Each session gives you the opportunity to practise your new skills while I support, guide and demonstrate alongside you. We take it one step at a time, building trust and progress at a pace that suits you both.

This relaxed 90-minute behavioural assessment is our chance to really get to know you and your dog and to uncover what’s going on beneath the surface. It’s ideal if your dog is showing any concerning or worrying behaviours or if something just doesn’t feel quite right. That might be anxiety, overexcitement, frustration, fear, reactivity or those “they’re lovely but…” moments where your dog simply doesn’t understand the rules of human life yet.
You might need a behavioural assessment if:
We’ll take time to observe your dog, talk through their history, routines and environment. I'll also look at how they respond in real-life situations. This helps us build a clear, honest picture of your dog’s world and what’s influencing their behaviour.
From there, I’ll create a realistic, down-to-earth training and management plan tailored specifically to you and your dog — no one-size-fits-all approaches and no unrealistic expectations.
It’s the first step towards calmer walks, happier days, better social skills, and a stronger relationship all round — giving both you and your dog the best chance of long-term success

Every dog has the potential to be a well-behaved and obedient companion. We offer handlers the opportunity to work towards the BIPDT (British Institute of Professional Dog trainers) National Pet Code Awards, a nationally recognised scheme designed to promote responsible dog ownership and a high standard of everyday obedience and control.
The National Pet Code assesses practical, real-life skills that demonstrate a dog is a well-mannered and responsive companion. The scheme is suitable for pet dogs of all breeds and ages and focuses on calm behaviour, reliability and good handling rather than competitive performance.
On completion of each relevant Abbey Dogs group training course or when you reach the appropiate level in your 121 training, owners have the option to take part in dedicated National Pet Code preparation classes. These classes focus specifically on the exercises and standards required for the award level being worked towards.
Dogs that successfully meet the required standard are awarded a BIPDT National Pet Code certificate and rosette.
Bronze Award
The Bronze Award assesses basic obedience and control in everyday situations. Exercises demonstrate that the dog can respond reliably to the handler, remain calm around distractions and behave appropriately in a training environment.
This level is typically taken following completion of Beginner Obedience training.
Silver Award
The Silver Award builds on Bronze level skills, requiring greater accuracy, duration, distance and consistency. Dogs are expected to show improved focus, steadiness and responsiveness in more challenging scenarios.
This level aligns well with Improvers level training.
Gold Award
The Gold Award is the highest level of the National Pet Code and demonstrates a high standard of control, teamwork and reliability. Exercises are more demanding and reflect advanced handling and training skills.
This award is most suitable for dogs training at Advanced level.
Many handlers enjoy working towards the awards as a structured goal, while others simply train for enjoyment and both approaches are fully supported at Abbey Dogs.
